EUROPEAN ORGANIC DAY: THE VOG ORGANIC TEAM FOR THE NEW SEASON

To mark European Organic Day, VOG – Home of apples is officially kicking off the new sales season for its organic apples and taking stock of a segment that remains a fundamental part of the Consortium’s strategy. The organic harvest, which began a few weeks ago and will continue through November, is showing stable volumes and an increase in the share of new varieties. This product line-up seamlessly integrates traditional offerings with innovative brands, enabling VOG to respond effectively to any market conditions and confirm its role as a driver of innovation in the sector.

Organic products are an integral part of our portfolio and represent significant added value,” comments Klaus Hölzl, Sales Manager at VOG. “As the season kicks off, we’re ready to team up with European retailers, offering a diverse product range that combines established varieties and innovative brands. Despite a slight decline in volumes, the quality and diversity of the harvest allow us to guarantee our business partners continuity, excellent shelf life, and a product offering that is always tailored to their supply needs.”

The start of the campaign coincides with a positive market environment. Overall data for the organic sector in 2025 confirm a solid growth trend in revenue, at +9.2% in Italy (source: ISMEA Nielsen) and +13% in Germany (source: YouGov), signs of dynamism that are also reflected in the fruit and vegetable sector, where organic products are gradually regaining a central position on shelves. VOG is ready to capitalise on this recovery alongside European large-scale retailers, thanks to a robust supply chain that ensures year-round availability.

“The strength of our offering lies in guaranteeing high-quality apples year-round thanks to a well-balanced portfolio: alongside traditional apples, we offer club apples with a strong brand identity, and through new varieties and innovative concepts, we develop complementary solutions that make the organic segment more attractive and stimulate consumption,” explains Hannes Tauber, Marketing Manager at VOG. “This is supported by clear and consistent communication that provides customers with a practical tool to understand the offering, optimise product range and rotation choices, and enhance the entire department, while simultaneously guiding consumers through the purchasing process towards an informed and satisfying choice.”

VOG’s wide variety of products is the defining feature of its organic offering, developed with the consumer in mind. The work of the Consortium’s 300 family-run farms, which practice this method of apple cultivation, makes it possible to apply the concept of teamwork even within the organic selection: a true team that can be adapted throughout the season.

“We will continue to listen to consumers and work closely with retailers to fully develop the potential of organic products,” concludes Hölzl. “Only by working as a team can we consolidate VOG’s role on the European stage and contribute to the growth of the category.
